Here it is, your SOTW for Week 2!
Now before we get into who won this award, let’s talk about how this is going to work. As you all know, we are the most inclusive DFFL there is, so naturally this award is non-binary. The SOTW can be given to any person, animal, object, TV show, podcast, etc. Say you had your fish choose between two starters that week and it helped you win the league, that fish is SOTW! Maybe you tinkered Sunday morning on the dirty toilet in Denny’s, guess what? That toilet is SOTW! I think you get the picture. GT will be the contact for all SOTW nominations.
Oh brother, you hate to see this. Josh has won SOTW two weeks in a row. (Technically his shorts won last week but whatever). This was his second week in a row as the highest scoring team. Maybe the fact that he trimmed his beard a little is helping him coach this year.
While having having a high scoring team was important, there was something much greater on the line this week. Josh had made a bet against Nick, he had to outscore Jason (with a line set at Josh+3.5). If he failed to do this not only would his pride be hurt, but he would have to post a video stating the obvious, that Buffalo pizza is GARBAGE.
It still blows my mind that people like this more than a NYC style pizza. People from Buffalo are oddly loyal and delusional about all things Buffalo, from their below average pizza to their sad sports teams. While I do love Buffalo, I can recognize it is not perfect. Just check out this all the controversy this twit from Nick caused on Tweeter. Yikes.
But I digress…. Josh outscored Jason again! So now Nick has to “bend the knee” to Josh and support him as commissioner. Nick had been leading the charge to impeach Josh but is now his loyal follower. This was honestly a win-win for the rest of the league, either Josh or Nick had to swallow their pride, so we are all excited.
Does Nick regret making this bet? Would he go back and change the line? I don’t know, but as the great Jon Gruden once said “Hindsight is 50/50”
