Okay enough with the niceties and kumbaya bullshit. While we are not officially punching that panic button just yet, there needs to be a drastic change in approach and mentality after we have now hit a 6 week skid without breaking .500. Josh has finally broken through to gain the lead and this week will be crucial to get it back as we approach the final quarter of the regular season. I will not resort to making excuses as a vice, because excuses are for losers. I will however vent a little by saying fuck Minnesota for missing a goddamn extra point that cost us a cover, fuck the Cowboys for letting Jeff Driskel look like Drew Brees, fuck Jameis Winston for not knowing the difference between his receivers and the defenders, and this might be a tad harsh but fuck Nick Saban – Tua’s injury is his fault for even having him in the game to run up the score on a 3 score underdog Mississippi State. Okay, I feel better now that I got that off my chest. Time to re focus and figure out a way to turn the ship around. I will get as creative as I have to and do whatever it takes to get the gambling gods favor back on my side. May even have to go visit some kinds of gypsy psychic if that’s what it takes. I will not go down without a fight, best believe that.
JOSH CHALLENGES:
TB +6 vs NO
Jameis, Jameis, Jameis… why are you the way that you are? This game somehow left me truly astonished even though he has done this so many times before. I guess sometimes the simple realities of the situation trump the more complex intricacies. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin have been yardage machines this year and a total match up nightmare for almost everyone they have faced. Now that might not be such a problem for the Saints who happen to have one of the best lock down corners in the league in Marshon Lattimore, except that he was ruled out this week with a hamstring injury. So now you are relying on #2 cornerback P.J. Williams to cover Mike Evans and nickle corner Eli Apple to take Godwin. Seems like a no brainer that the duo would have a field day right? WRONG! The #2 & #3 receiving leaders in the league were somehow held to a modest 7 catches and 116 yards combined against the short handed Saints secondary. Mind boggling. Despite this massive missed opportunity the Bucs still had their chance to hit a tailor made backdoor cover as they would get the ball down by 10 with 4 minutes on the clock. What should have been a golden opportunity to move into scoring position on a softened defense instead resulted in Winston’s third interception of the game in the form of a pick 6. He would go on to throw a 4th interception and his league leading 18th of the year. I thought I saw a huge mismatch that would allow Tampa to put up enough points to keep this game within 1 score, but as I said, the simple reality is that a guy like Winston will find a way to fuck it up, and that’s exactly what he did.
6-5 Josh
