Football is back and so is your favorite money making turtle Guster, which makes everything else going on in the world suck a little bit less, doesn’t it? A lot has changed in our lives this year but one thing remains constant – we will watch and gamble football!
Now I know things didn’t end well for me last season in the first Guster-Reich challenge as Josh pulled out a miraculous double point week 16 win to take the crown, but I am excited to switch roles this season and see how he does with the pressure on his shoulders. Josh will be picking the 5 each week from the full slate and I will be challenging. This year that is all that I will be focusing on, so my traditional 10 best bets will not be included. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
I’ve given you my betting principles in the past and now Josh has given you his. We have quite the contrasting philosophies. Josh thinks like the public – with emotion. Those uncomfortable spots – week 1, big spreads, bad teams, etc. are where all the good value is. That’s where you see all the line movement and can take the biggest advantage. But I wouldn’t expect him to understand that. Don’t confuse throwing darts and getting lucky with knowing what he is doing. Now he has to hit the mark on his own merit. So with that being said, here are my challenges for week 1:
- CHI @ DET -3
- SEA -1.5 @ ATL
- GB @ MIN -2.5
- DAL -3 @ LAR
- PIT -5.5 @ NYG
That’s right, I am challenging the whole slate. And yes I am sending a message – If Josh is going to beat me again, he’s going to have to do it the hard way. Let see what you are really made of Joshy boy.
